State of Missouri
Where as, performing arts is a powerful force and it brings spirit
and joy into the life of every individual that watches; and
Where as, performing arts dignifies the realm of feeling by
merging intellect and emotions in the search for a humane way of life; and
Where as, the Dances of India organization is the oldest East
Indian dance company in Missouri; and
Where as, Dances of India will celebrate it's 25th anniversary
season September 21 - 22, 2001; and
Where as, the Office of the Governor believes it appropriate to
honor outstanding arts organizations in the state:
NOW, THEREFORE, I, BOB HOLDEN, GOVERNOR OF THE
STATE OF MISSOURI, do hereby proclaim September 21-22, 2001 to be
DANCES OF INDIA DAYS
in Missouri and urge all citizens of our state to join in this observance.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused
to be affixed the Great Seal of the State of Missouri, in the City of Jefferson, this
6th day of September, 2001.
